What people are saying about the "Light Up Detroit" theme song...

I performed the song recently backed by a 24-member choir, slide-show of Detroit and audience members waving fluorescent green Olympic-style light sticks while singing along. It was exciting. The love and passion that people have for this city is remarkable and it's expressed in the lyrics of this song. When you hear people singing it, you'll want to join in to help "Light Up Detroit".

"'Dancing in the Streets" was a great music anthem for America back in the 60s when Detroit was on the move. Well, after some very tough times, Detroit is clearly on the move again and 'Light Up Detroit' is a great music anthem to get everyone in the Motor City proclaiming it together. Like the lyrics say, "Sing it out, Shout it - Light Up Detroit". I think it's terrific.

As someone who grew up in a Motown Family, I know the effect that a good song with a great melody and appealing lyrics can have on people. "Light Up Detroit" is an inspiring song. I loved it the moment I heard it. And I love how it's getting people to sing about their city. Detroit is making a comeback and now we have a song to celebrate that. Let's "Make Detroit Shine"!

I've listened to all the songs about Detroit over the years and I think "Light Up Detroit" is the Best. It really gets people inspired about the city and makes them want to sing along. We'll be promoting it in every way we can.
